Post Office

Hi,

I sent 2 parcels abroad. The one was sent 5 months ago (by ship) and the other 2 months ago (by air). I enquired over the weekend what is the status of the one which was sent 2 months ago and was informed that it has not left South Africa and still at the hub in Johannesburg. Both should've been received by now. The system doesn't allow me to track the parcel as the Post Office is apparently changing the system. Neither can anybody at the Post Office track the parcel except for staff at the hub or customer service. When calling customer service one has to hold on for at least 1 hour and neither is there any response to emails sent. I was informed both parcels are still in the warehouse (hub) in Johannesburg and nobody can say when they going to leave South Africa. Why is the Post Office receiving parcels to be sent abroad if they will sit at the hub for months on end and what is the reason why the parcels are not being sent? Last year when we could send parcels I sent one abroad which took close to 1 year to be received. When I did the enquiry there was only one person who made sure she got to the bottom of why my parcel hadn't left South Africa, everybody else I was told to liaise with made empty promises to find out what happened to my parcel. Had I not received assistance from the efficient, helpful person my parcel wouldn't have left South Africa. I will now have to do 2 enquiries so that my parcels will hopefully eventually leave South Africa which is time consuming.

Thank you.
