Notice of parcel received after parcel already returned to sender

<p>This morning I received a notice in my home mail box of an international parcel awaiting collection at the Kroonstad Post Office. The notice had a stamp dated 5 September 2016, however, it was only delivered at my home today, 19 October 2016. It also showed that it was a second notice. I had never received a first notice.</p> <p>Upon arrival at the branch I was informed that the parcel has been returned to the sender because I did not collect it in time. When I pointed out that this notice was the first one I received and that I only received it today, she told me she's not responsible for the people who made the deliveries, so in other words, it's not her problem.</p> <p>This is beyond pathetic. I work in customer service, and shrugging off someone's problem like that would get you fired from my company. The fact that I only received a notice after the parcel had already been returned is preposterous.</p> <p>If this is how much the level of service at the South African Post Office have devolved, it's no wonder they are going bankrupt!</p>
