No point in insuring a parcel at SAPO
In May 2014 I sent an insured parcel to Brazil. Needless to say it never left SA borders nor arrived anywhere in the world. I refunded the buyer as I was insured. After 3 months I submitted my claim and was greeted with \BUT ITS ONLY BEEN THREE MONTHS! A year passed and although I kept asking, nothing was forthcoming. The manager at the post office,Betty, assured me that it would be dealt with. She phoned me during last year to say that a document was missing from my claim. I spent the day running around for affidavits and copies of receipts which i submitted. The next time I went to see her, I was told she had no email so she couldn't follow up.

Here I am in 2016 still waiting for my money! Almost 2 years! What's the point of insuring? I use a courier service now and only visit the Post Office to clear my postbox. Advice to all and sundry - do not insure your parcels. It's all take and no service."
