No free Post Box in area where no street delivery
Today I went to renew my PO Box which I have had for a few years, I think about 4 or so. You have to renew annually. There is no street delivery where we live as it is fairly rural, so PO Boxes are (or were) free. The Post Office today denied my renewal as I DO NOT OWN THE LAND WHERE WE LIVE! I thought the whole idea in this country was to help the poor, now it is just the rich who own property who are allowed to get free P O Boxes!! Ridiculous!!! What are we poor people to do??? Where do we get our post?? This should not be policy, and I feel that it is atrociously unfair. It should be : No street delivery, FREE P O Box at nearest Post Office!!!

Box rental is free in areas where there are no street deliveries.
Clients residing in areas where a street delivery is impossible are entitled to one free post box at the nearest mail collection point or post office according to the post office demarcations.For renewals you need to take your proof of identity and proof of residence to your local postal branch to confirm that the address is indeed in a non street delivery area and the proof of address should entail your name . The branch manger will then able to make a decision once all the required documentation are submitted.
Renewal notice should also be submitted annually for authentication and change of information.
NB: No online applications.
