NEVER USE EXPEDITED MAIL SERVICE OF SA POST OFFICE.

Expedited Mail Service: 1. Document paid to be sent internationally 13/11/2019 via expedited mail service. 2. On 22/11/ 2019 the document is returned to the post office marked undeliverable. Miraculously it takes 1 day to return. 3. How can it take 6 days to reach the international hub in Johannesburg? 3. No refund of R464 is immediately available. 4. Long forms to fill in to obtain a refund and a request despite original receipt for an identity document in order to process the refund. 5. Claims that it will take 14 days to 'process' the refund.

Absolute nonsense. The worst service I have ever received from the post office. I never complain, but this time its far beyond the pale. I have always said the post office is badmouthed for all the wrong reasons and they actuallly still perform a fantastic service at very affordable prices but this was so disappointing and bad.

NO refund for services not rendered. Timeframe has has exceeded 56 days, 8 complete weeks, 36 working days if only considering monday to friday, although the post office is open for service every saturday as well, which by any count would then make this now 44 working days.

The Linden Post Office leaves me nice messages on my telephone to say the matter is out of their hands and the area office was on leave over december, but now two weeks into January they are clearly back from leave but still don't even know when they are going to process the refund.

The post office is past any reasonable timeframe to have processed the refund.

Consumer Protection Ombudsman complaint lodged, with request for payment in terms of the Prescribed rate of interest act, for funds unpaid, as well as reimbur*****t of travel and telephone and time costs.

As of 5 February 2020:
1. no further information has been made available regarding repayment or processing of the refund. It has now exceeded 10 weeks.
2. The consumer protection ombudsman states a parastatal like SA POST OFFICE does not actually fall under their jurisdiction, one must rather approach the Public Protector's office.
