Motor Vehicle Licence Renewal ********
Employees at the Post office at Mall@Reds are robbing the public on their hard earned cash during the motor vehicle license renewal process. On the 02nd August 2018. I visited the Post office at Mall@Reds to do my license renewal on two cars and I completed all the forms as usual. I asked the lady how much it will cost me for two cars and I was provided with a quote of R1468 (R736 for the bakkie and R732 for the Golf) for two cars which was a Kia 1.3 ton with engine capacity of 2.7 D and a golf GTI 2.0 engine so right there I questioned why the Golf is almost the same amount as the bakkie and in my mind there was always a huge price gap between them. So I went to the bank withdrew the money and paid R1468 as requested. To my surprise when they give me the slip and the car license disks document. The bakkie had all the prices appearing on the license disc document and all totalling to R736 like I almost expected that it will slightly be more expensive due to the 2.7 Engine capacity but now for the Golf there was nothing appearing on the license disk document except zeros, However the till slip reflect the total of R1468. Is that time I asked the teller as to why the amount is reflecting on one license disk document not on the other one as they are both drawn from the same system and demanded that she fix it. The lady then said the system is giving problems and I disagreed and demanded that the amount must reflect on the license disc document just like the other one and She tried to give me excuses about the system and I insisted otherwise I'll request for the manager. It was that time she took back the license disc document which did not reflect the correct amount and reprinted the correct one with money reflecting on the document and gave me my R100 change back which she was trying to rob me off. I told her in her face that she must stop what she is doing as it is against the law as she was trying to rob me off my money. Again the same thing happened on the 11th August 2018 when my fiancé and I went there to renew her car license disc now with another teller in the same post office. Now that I knew what their modus operandi was I left them again to do the entire process of payment and charged us R736 for her car and again on her license disc document no amounts were reflecting but the till slip reflected R736 which again I insisted that the money must also reflect on the license disc document. The same excuse about the system not working but I asked again to say but they printed the document on the system. At that time I requested to speak to the manager and I was told there is no manager and I must come on Monday the following week. I told them I'll come back even if it means I take a day off from work because they are stilling from the public with such a behaviour. While we were on our way home they called my fiancé and said we must come back to the post office and when we got there they now change the story to say the system is now working and gave us our R100 change back after charging us according to the system and printed a one pager reflecting the correct amount. The issue I want to expose here is that the tellers are taking almost R100 for every client doing their license disk renewal without client even noticing they are being ****med. I would like the post office Mall@Reds to investigate this behaviour so that we can all be safe from this malicious behaviour.
