On 11 May, an item ordered, entered the Royal Mail. By about 15th May it was in the SA Postal Service possession. From then, to 28th May it disappeared. On 28th May at 06h18 it was finally scanned at the JIMC with the South African tracking number RI***ZA.
Since the 28th, it has not moved (at time of writing this, 7 days+ later).
I understood, from the George Post Office that the item goes through Customs and enters the Postal system. From Ms Huyser, it seems it enters the Postal system, then goes to Customs.
Whatever the procedure, it is dawdling in Johannesburg.
The more it dawdles, the better the chance that it will be lost.
My specific complaint is that it is the Post Office' specific purpose to receive, transmit and deliver mail timeously and in an acceptable condition. This they are not doing.
Someone else received a parcel from overseas within 10 days. Why is this dragging. I have been to the PM of George, the Area PM and the SAPO CustomerCare. They are taking detail and, in the main, not following up. The SAPO Track & Trace has not worked for weeks. I use a 3rd party Track & Trace!
SAPO is going the same way as Eskom!
