I've accidentally made use of the South African Post Office and paying the price.
I know better than to use them - with delays on letters/parcels exceeding well over 6 months - I ordered 3 separate parcels from the states - first was DHL which arrived within 4 business days, second was UPS within 8 business days - and the latter USPS Expedited mail which turns out to be only "priority" until it leaves the States then falls into the hands of SAPO.
Been over a month now "radio silence" as soon as it arrives in SA it seems to be low priority mail which turns out to be is also untrackable - at least until it is scanned in again.
I just wish one could intercept the parcel - or that SAPO will wake up and realize the potential for everyone to benefit - make use of the existing service and re-sell it e.g. Time Freight, UPS, Aramex, DHL and the many many many more ..
We the clients are unhappy - and most of us are willing to pay extra to get our parcels/mail sooner - having a piece of mail sit in a backlog due to numerous strikes for months on end without moving is beyond ridiculous.
Surely SA Post Office is a business providing a service to clients and should be run as one ?
