*********** SAPO
I have ordered an item on ebay.com on 23 July 2018 and the shipment was expected to be in South Africa in first week of August 2018. My tracking number is RF ********** 82SG. Now, in mid August 2018, I went to my local Post Office ( Orlando, Soweto, Gauteng Province) and I was told that my order cannot be traced and I should contact South African Post Office ( SAPO) website and trace my order and look for EMS tracking/ international parcel tracking,I did that and landed on the page, http://www.southafricanpostoffice.post/
Now the parcel shows arrival on 4 September 2018 at Johannesburg Internationa Mail Centre ( JIMC) and has been sitting there since that date. Today its 20 September 2018 and there status quo hasn't changed to reflect if the item has been cleared or moved to the next stage. As I write this review, I dont when will I receive the item, nor whats taking this lomg to process it. I have been calling the Customs office ( Tel: +27 11 ********** ) since 14 September 2018 to find out whats going on, but no one ever answers the phone, at times I stay on hold for more that 30 min. Till this very moment, I dont know who to talk to nor how am I'm going to be assisted or where to go since I'm based inJohannesburg.
This must be the most frustrating thing that I have ever had to deal with since, I dont know if I should cancel/return the item nor continue to do online ordering of items, as this is clearly not the fault of ebay supplier but the incompetency of SAPO Personel. Can someone advise nor point in which direction I should be heading to resolve this predicament.
