Inappropriate practices at Tygervalley Mall SA Post Office

Took my mom to Tygervalley Mall's Post office (Cape Town) to collect her SRD grant. We always go to this branch. Were waiting in line since 6h30 this morning. When they opened they advised all must have a copy of their ID ready. This was never a requirement. Not at this branch nor any other. Everyone in line had to run around like headless chickens because the internet/copy stores were still closed and no other store or people want to help. When i asked the Manager, Grant Snell, he advised that the paper used by the Post office is not a good quality and breaks the printers which is why the tellers don't use the printers to make copies of the ID's themselves. I do know that they can't do this. It's not SA Post Office policy and procedure. Why does the manager practice this? They are asking poor people to spend money to go make copies. People who come from far and cannot afford to give out extra money because they just have their travelling money/taxi fare. It creates chaos and confusion outside that post office. While SA Post Office would have enough resources to contract Nashua each and every time the printers give problems. Or why not source a better type of paper. They shouldn't make their problem ours!
