Got a letter to collect parcel on 8October15,with a 1July15 stamp.

got a letter of collecting goods on 8Otober15,with a stamp date 1July15 try to collect it on 9October only to be told it was turned back on 1August15.why did they deliver the collecting slip know they've returned my parcel back.
