Diabolical SA Post Office!!!!!
We have a post box in Hout Bay Village, Cape Town and have had it for 30 years. One of the reasons is that our mail gets ****** from our street address. This morning I went to the post office to check for mail. I hadn't been for a number of months. My box was blocked so I realised that the annual renewal had lapsed and went inside the P Office to pay. After paying the annual rental plus a hefty R200 for "penalties" I was told that my mail had been returned to the various senders because I had not collected it. We have not received a single notification, be it telephonically, mobile or street address, to inform us that our annual rental for our box had lapsed. I know that the mail was not returned to the senders as one of the reasons for my collection of mail at the PO was because a sender phoned me to enquire about an enquiry I had made regarding an investment to which I had not answered. My guess is that the mail was taken out of my box and thrown away. Except of course for the subscription magazine that we receive. I have paid the penalty and have had this rental for 30 years. The SA Post Office is the most useless diabolical "business" around and the "manager" who "runs" this Post Office should be retrenched. He has known me for 30 years, knows where I live and has my phone numbers, what stopped him from picking up the phone to see if all was OK, actually, we had a huge fire here, and riots? No instead he threw my mail away. Including 3 x magazine subscriptions for my son and a document containing details of my inheritance as my mother passed away last year. Besides what he has done is totally ******* because the rental is mine and I have paid for it plus penalties. Diabolical service!!!!
