Complaints post office

<p>I have received a package from Brasil on 28 July. The package weighs 215 grams and is a gift ( 1 piece of cotton clothing) for my newborn baby. I went to collect it at the post office and was told to pay a fee of R261 for the package. According to the paper work filled in Brasil the gift is worth 20 Reais which is equivalent to plus minus R80.00 rands. The post office was unable to explain how the amount of R261 was calculated. This is the 2nd time this happens. In May 2016 I received another parcel from Brasil and was asked over R800 rands to collect the parcel at the post office. After opening the parcel and viewing the items and their low cost value the amount of R800 was waivered. It is not acceptable that we are charged excessive amounts for gifts and parcels coming from overseas despite their low cost value at the country of origin .</p>
