Backlog of overseas post

I am waiting for an important part for my car unobtainable in this country. I had to order from the UK. It is a door quarter light glass approximately the size of an A4 book and was sent 1st class Royal Mail. It is well past delivery date. I inquired at my local Table View post office in case it had been left there. The post mistress pointed to their overseas post room containing empty shelves and informed me that they had not received overseas mail for at least 3 months due to a backlog in the Jhb sorting office..<br> What the heck is going on? what if I was waiting for something more critical to life than a car part?
