Absolutely NO Service

I have been waiting for the delivery of two overseas parcels for weeks now.

The overseas tracking services tracks them on a minute-by-minute basis until they depart on the flight to SA. Thereafter the parcels just disappear for days.

One parcel has been at customs since 24 May 2018 according to the Post Office’s tracking website. When I called in, and after waiting for 35minutes, I was told that customs needs me to send them the invoice for the parcel. Why didn’t they contact me? I sent the e-mail on 25 May. Then nothing. Days later I contacted the call centre again. They said that I must resend the invoice, because the parcel is still with customs. For two days I tried to send the invoice, but it was returned every time. I was later told that there is a problem with the Post Office’s domain server. So, I called in again to be told that the parcel is NOT with customs. A day later I was told that it IS still with customs and that I should call them ( ********** 039). Every call I made was only answered after 15 minutes of holding. I called “customs” more than ten times, just to hold for 10 minutes before being cut off. After two days of trying someone eventually answered, only to tell me that the parcel is not with customs, and that I should call Zodwa ( ********** 138) for delivery arrangements. To date and after trying for three days I’ve not been able to get through to Zodwa. Once the line was busy, then it is not answered for 50% of the time, while the remainder of the time a message informs me that the person is not available. I have left messages, but no one returns my call.

The second parcel disappeared for more than a week after it should have arrived in SA. Since, the website shows that it is at JIMC. For the past week, when I call the call centre I am told that it is on its way to the Germiston Hub. How long does it take to travel a few kilometres??

On Friday, the 1st of June, I made a purchase in Holland and decided to have the parcel couriered to me by UPS. I received it on Wednesday, 6 June!!!!!

I will never use the Post Office again. They are just not interested in service, and then they want to pay the millions of SASSA grants. Just imagine what chaos that will be if they can’t even keep track of the parcels they already have.

In the past I managed to short circuit the excruciatingly slow progress of the parcels in SA, by collecting them directly from JIMC. But, now it is no longer allowed.
