Avoid avoid avoid

This has been the worst experience I’ve had with a moving company. I contacted this company to assist with the removal of my belongings from Durban to Cape Town. They were extremely quick to send me a quote and even quicker to make sure I paid upfront. Collection was scheduled for the 7th of August, yet I heard absolutely nothing from them leading up to the date. Out of concern, I followed up the afternoon before they were due to collect, as I was moving out of my rental property and new tenants were moving in. This was not a last-minute booking and they had ample notice. Only then, late in the evening the night before collection, did I receive a message from Lisa saying that the truck was delayed and they could only collect on the 8th. Because of this, the new tenants could not complete their move, and I had to scramble to make arrangements to store my belongings in their garage. Then, on the 8th, I was informed that their truck had broken down (apparently they only operate a single truck?) and that collection would only happen the following week. By this point, I was already in Cape Town, left without furniture, a bed, or even basic essentials. I immediately requested to cancel the order and be refunded. Since then, I’ve sent multiple emails and messages, but their responses have been painfully slow and completely insensitive. It is now over two weeks later, and I still have not received my money back, leaving me thousands of rands out of pocket. I will never recommend this company to anyone. Please avoid them at all costs. Don’t be misled by their “cheap” or “discounted” rates, they are cheap for a reason, and the stress and losses you’ll suffer are not worth it. I also question the legitimacy of the few positive reviews on HelloPeter, as my personal experience was nothing but disastrous.
