Refundable deposit not paid back by the vendor

I expressed interest to purchase a motor vehicle Mercedes Benz SL 500 advertised on the internet. It was explicitly agreed with the salesman upfront that the vehicle would be inspected by a service centre of my choice (Richard at Rautomech) before I would even considered to purchase the vehicle. A date was arranged between myself the vendor and service agent for the inspection on Monday and the then Tuesday. The vendor did not honour these appointments to the detriment of the service agent. The owner of SA motor corporation then arrived without appointment on Wednesday at the service centre in Pretoria which led to conflict.

Originally the sales person Jacques Roux said no holding deposit (R5000) was required. However he later called and said another party was interest and asked for the refundable deposit. This was paid immediately. However due to various reasons, I decided not to complete the deal (bad service, damage to vehicle etc) I decided not to go ahead with the deal. It was agreed by the Manager Bradley Burger at SA Motor Corp that I will be refunded. The owner who took the vehicle to the service centre in Pretoria as described in the first paragraph then the refused to pay the refund. Phone discussion with Bradly Burger regarding this has been unsuccessful. All this communication is on “Whatsapp”.

That is where the situation stand as of now.
