The department of transports incompetence
Well it began in November 2023 when a lady friend & I went with her to renew her drivers licence. Did all the necessary documents & everything was in order order. She was told to come back in February 2024. went to the Alberton licence dept at the end of February 2024. We went to the collection office for her drivers licence & it was not there. The lady said to her you can go to the police station and make a advidavid & have mine & her ID's veryfied & I can then come & collect her licence at a later stage. we went to the information desk to see where the licence was in the system. She was then told sorry all your information has been lost you have to do this all over again. So she did. She offered then foto's for the drivers and was told they will take new foto's. She was then told come back at close to the end of April which I went there today 23 April 2024 to the Alberton licence Department to the collection office & & again the licence was not there, I then went to the information desk & enquired about the licence & was told it was not there because it was rejected because the images were not good enough. So the licence Department in Pretoria rejected their own system. Now the problem is my friend is going to Cape town on Saturday 27 April 2024 for company business for 3 weeks. It has been 5 months for her to get her licence how can an electronic system lose your information? It does not make sense. If you are stopped in a road block & you give your licence to a metro officer all your information can be checked or is all your information going to disappear? is the system so volatile that this can happen to other road users? or the people working on the system is ***********? Or certain people are being targeted? Now where else can you go to complain about this it really a disgrace that people working for the department for years just cannot get it right!!!!!!!!!!!!! What can I say?
