Systemic Gender Bias in Golf

When is the gender ************** going to stop? Yesterday we were in the Pro Shop at Ballito Junction. There was a special area in which junior golfers could get clubs and clothing to suit their stature. THEN we see the SAGolfKids banner which is there to encourage parents to get Junior into the game -- Hurrah!

Then the GRRR factor. The banner states that: "Most junior clubs are categorised by age but please check the correct length by measuring your little master on our length guide.".

With male dominance in the game it is difficult enough for ladies to play the game. Now we have the golfing body promoting that male children should be brought into golf. One could argue that 'master' is an inclusive term related to golf but hey it doesn't inspire confidence in gender equality.
