Re: Complaint again Insurance Broker: Rita Abraham Insurance Brokers CC
Vehicle Description: 2018 Renault Kwid 1.0 Cumber 5DR
On 13 th November, 2023, my car (Renault Kwid) was smashed in an accident. Subsequently, the insurance process began, and it took approximately two weeks for the insurance company to retrieve the car from my yard, utilising a roll-back tow. However, my ordeal continued as the claims handling service, after numerous calls, informed us that my claim was rejected. They stated that my broker, Mr. Freddy, had been notified but failed to relay the information to me. The first rejection was based on the absence of information regarding the third party, which, according to the insurance company, had been sent during the initial claim. Upon finally reaching Mr. Freddy, he advised me to obtain a letter from "Yo Taxi," confirming my registration with them. Despite complying and resubmitting the claim, it was rejected again, this time citing the lack of a signed contract with the driver. I clarified with "Yo Taxi," and they affirmed the non-existence of such contracts with drivers. Despite assurances from Kelvin at Hollard that he would contact "Yo Taxi" to verify the contracts, he proceeded to resubmit the claim, leading to another rejection. Mr. Freddy then promised to submit another claim by 9 th February 2024, but as of 17th March, 2024, I have yet to receive any updates. Attempts to contact Mr. Freddy have been unsuccessful. I got someone to call Mr Freddy from another number, he answered and assured me that he will get back to me – but still no response to date. Throughout this process, I was instructed by Mr. Freddy to continue paying the insurance premiums, a directive I have followed diligently since the accident. However, after 3 months of paying and nothing was happening he said that I do not have to continue paying (that is after I got hold of him and not because he called to tell me). The lack of resolution and communication has left me in a
state of uncer*****y and frustration regarding my insurance claim. Also this is my business and I am a single mum and I rely on this business for my expenses. I took an insurance for a taxi service (business insurance) which meant that any given time, any driver who has their license can drive my car as it is for my business purpose.
Plz beware of this Guy and there so called insurance company
If anyone could assist me I would really appreciate it
