Worst Insurance experience

I bought a house through SA Home Loans and on purchase I requested the Estate agent (Kathy Brown) and Jon Luke (SAHL) to make sure my pool was 100%, I was given the ok and completeted my purchase. Months went by and we started having isssues with the pool, I contacted the insurance company SAHL being the broker. They sent out an engineer and claimed the damage was pre existing, I complained and they sent out a second engineer whom conducted compaction tests and stated the ground was not compacted correctly. I brought my own engineer in and he stated the process that was followed was incorrect for soil compaction. I took the case further as SAHL was not helpfull at all and in all this being my first home purchase and me stating to the estate agent and SAHL my concern regarding the pool.

Every time the Ombutsman came back to me (whom was just as helpfull as SAHL), I destroyed there reason for decline and they go back into re assesment and come back to me with a new reason for decline. I have consulted with lawyers and alterenative insurance companies (as I work hand in hand every day with this industry) and all parties have looked at documantation from SAHL and Myself and all parties are in my favour.

I am dissapointed in SAHL insurnace as well as the Ombutsman and the time it has taken. I will never recommend anyone take this insurance as their only concern is themselves, I am just as dissapointed in SAHL themselves as they did not stand in and assist me with their insurance side.

So now the cost falls on myself to repair the damage that was not my expense to begin with while the insurance company sits back and celebrates for not doing their jobs, we pay for protection against these situations yet get nothing but a debit order going off every month.

I will recomend that anyone who has insurance through SAHL move before you too sit with an unforseen expense you cant afford and are forced to sacrifce money you where ment to put towards you children so your property investment doesnt loose value.
