Unreasonable decline of my further lending on my bond.
I app**** for further lending from my bond that took effect in 2011 and is up to date with clean repayment history but I was declined. They declined my request because of
" Kindly note the 12 months rehabilitation prior to application is a standard ruling applicable too all applications and its non negotiable unfortunately."
However SA Home Loans just financed my latest property acquisition now in June 2024. The letter they are referring to was issued in March 2024.
Below is a copy of my latest email to SAHL.
I am writing to request that South African Home Loans (SAHL) reconsider declining my application for further lending. To provide context, I entered into an agreement with National Debt Counselors (NDC) in 2016, but soon realized their services did not align with my needs. Consequently, NDC never rendered services or made payments on my behalf, including my SAHL bond.
Notwithstanding, I have diligently serviced and settled all my debts communicated to NDC. I am committed to honoring my obligations and exploring alternatives to alleviate financial pressure.
The declined application exacerbates my financial situation, as I sought additional funding to settle a personal loan (R4,300 monthly) and clear my sons' outstanding school fees. I believed this option more prudent than requesting a bond payment holiday.
I kindly request that your credit department review their decision, considering the following:
1. My consistent payment history 2. NDC's lack of service delivery 3. The potential benefits of consolidating debt through SAHL
Your assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
