Shocking Communication from SA Home Loans
During COVID, I was unemployed for a period of time, and as a result, my bond went into arrears. As soon as I was employed again, I contacted SA Home Loans to make payment arrangements for the arrears. I then received an email from SA Home Loans informing me that they had recapitalized the arrears into my bond. I also decided to go under debt review until all my accounts were paid in full. I recently completed my debt review period and within a week after receiving the debt review notification I received an email from SA Home Loans that my bond repayment has been increased by just under R5000.00 per month. I complained to SA Home Loans and they responded that the increase was because of the recapitalization of the arrears. When they notified me that they recapitalized the arrears there was no communication from them that about the increase in the future. If they did inform me about the increase then I could have paid an additional amount towards my bond over the last two years. The R5000 increase is unaffordable and is forcing me to back under debt review. If they supp**** me with the correct information about the recapitalization then this situation could be avoided. When I informed them that the increase was unaffordable for me, they responded with a GOD complex attitude that there was nothing they could do to assist.
