SA Homeloans: Non-repayment of Overpaid Money in Paid-up Bond Account.

I have been trying for two months to get money overpaid on my bond refunded. Despite numerous calls, e-mails and official complaints. I get undertakings that they have "given instruction" to repay the money within 14 days but this simply does not happen. They do not reply to my requests for feedback but simply acknowledge that my mail was received and was sent to the appropriate department.

I receive no interest on many thousands of rand that have been overpaid. I see on Hellopeter that I am not the only person with this problem and that the company does not respond to postings on Hellopeter. One complainant has been trying for over two years to be refunded. Now I am taking this up with the Ombud for the Banking Sector.

Please be advised that the Ombud requires that a complaint is lodged with their dispute resolution section for 30 days before they will act. So do not delay but send a formal complaint the moment that SA Homeloans compromises you.
