Retrenched and little help from SA Homeloans
My husband was retrenched 31st March 2014 & was not able 2 find another permanent 4 for 12 months. Despite SA Homeloans giving assistance 2 others in the same situation where they didn't have 2 pay for a bond for 3 to 6 months, we were told that we were new bondholders so they will only give 3 months leniency by dropping installments.Bear in mind my husband was not given a severance package having only worked for 7 months so on a single income I had to cover everything 4 the entire family & still feed 4 adults. I still managed 2 pay the full bond from the time he was retrenched right up until I'd exhausted all resources in October and started paying the smaller installments for 3 months. My husband still hadn't been employed by the time Jan, Feb & March arrived so I continued paying as much as I could (not R100's,but R1000's) until he was employed full time 1st April.First we are told to continue paying what the full bond was last week, now we are told it's too low, they have increased it over R1000 (no hike in interest rates) & they demand the arrears or hand us over. You'd think people could use common sense -WHERE MUST I SUCK THE MONEY FROM? Don't u think we've been through enough
