REASONS NOT TO USE SA HOMELOANS

1. The CEO of SA Homeloans in a news article says they will assist you so you don’t lose your home. Don’t believe that. If it was up to SA Homeloans our home would be gone. They threaten with foreclosure as soon as you get into trouble.

2. You can’t borrow funds you have paid on your existing homeloan in emergencies as I did previously with FNB making the SA Homeloans useless and a no go.

Our Story My husband and I bought our home together with both salaries. Being the breadwinner I paid the R12 000 bond repayment for 7 years. In July 2018 I was unexpectedly retrenched but continued paying the homeloan with the pension until the money ran out. I mailed SA Home loans requested a period of time to put the house payments on hold which they refused. They came up with a payment reduction of R8000. I used my limited amount of funds coming in from UIF to make the reduced payments. I mailed SA Homeloans to extend the payment arrangement of 3 months as I had not secured a job in that time. SA Home Loan (Tatum Lambert) refused and demanded the original home loan amount of R12 453 .91 which we did not have, which led to the house falling behind. In May 2019 my husband was retrenched too. We asked SA homeloans to give us some time for my husband’s pension payout to settle the whole house. They declined and demanded R62 500.00 in order to stop legal action and foreclosure which was mailed to us by Chantal Ottino. We paid the R62 500.00 on the 13th June 2019 and then they asked for a further R15 000.00 which we paid on the 24th June 2019. We requested some discount on the total amount as we were still unemployed but we were told this is a business and they will lose money if they assist us. Finally we received the pension payout and settled the house for the amount of R984 157.70. SA homeloans I am glad we are finished with you and never have to deal with you again. We found you to be uncompassionate, greedy and downright unhelpful in the most stressful time of our lives. Never ever will we use you again and I suggest others don’t either.
