NOTHING SHORT OF THIEVERY!!!!! MY BIGGEST REGRET!!!!
I have been a loyal customer of SA Home loans for almost a decade. I have made a monthly contribution for the past 10-years to SAHL for the home owner’s protection plan, to insure my home. Early this year I had put through a claim for my roof and I had been asked if preventative maintenance had been done on the roof. When I contacted SAHL, they had requested that I submit proof of the works done on the roof, which I did provide to them. An inspection had been done on my home, and I received a rejection letter from SAHL. Ever since, I have trying to obtain the relevant information and appeal the claim with no joy whatsoever, as I was just been pushed from pillar to post.
The rejection mail and letter had mentioned clauses that I have never seen before, neither signed nor agreed to, and SA Homeloan then began to blame all previous workmanship. I am not a building specialist or an expert in buildings and at the end of the day I PAY A PREMIUM TOWARDS MY INSURANCE for this very reason, which they have not right to reject!!! SA Homeloans is quick to invoke legal clauses from their contracts, yet they themselves do not honour their own contracts, as there are numerous clauses that they do not adhere to – or that are agreed to by the customer. I have already reported this to the Ombudsman for short term insurance and await their response.
I am extremely disgruntled with SA Homeloans dismissal of my claim as I have been paying a premium towards this for the past 10 years, to ensure that such problems are avoided, yet they refuse to account for their responsibility – which is NOTHING SHORT OF THIEVERY! I may not be a building expert, but I did take the necessary steps to ensure that the building was maintained and I feel that they are taking advantage of the fact!
I am disgusted with the excuses of SA Homeloans and the new clauses they always make to suit themselves whenever I’ve had a query. Above all (and not only contractually) but they do not see what is fair and honest in assessing a claim, as my elderly parents are living in the house with a leaking roof in this rainy season and it affects their health severely.
THIS IS DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE MAJOR BANKS AND SA HOMELOAN!!!!!!! I have previously had my first bond with a major bank and had never experienced any issues.
I BEG ALL CUSTOMERS NOT TO FALL FOR THIS TRAP THAT SA HOMELOAN CALLS A SERVICE!!!!! It is sad to think that people work so hard for their two biggest assets (their Homes and Cars) and yet we have this DISHONEST, GREEDY business that is allowed to take away our hard earned money!
I WISH I HAD NEVER SET EYES ON SA HOMELOANS A DECADE AGO!!!!
