My ex husband passed away from Covid 19 on 13 May 2020. Estate is stil being wound up. Bond is not yet paid up. Unfortunately the house burnt to the ground on Thursday 10 December 2020. A whole week later the assessor from Peter Greeff & Associates has not solved the accommodation for the family. My son is incurring costs by living at a bnb. The family dogs are still at the house and my son has to travel daily to feed them. Also had to hire a security guard which SA Home Loans Insurance do not want to pay for now.

Tried visiting their offices to resolve no assistance provided. Not allowed to enter their offices due to Covid 19.

In the meantime my son is going to have to find alternative accommodation as we dont have money to pay any further for a bnb.

Due to Covid I was advised by a staff member that they have very few staff workd and also staff have already gone of leave.

The assessors office is closing tomorrow for the festive season without any resolution as yet.

It is 13 days since my sons home burnt down and SA Home Loans have still not sorted out accommodation for him. The probem is that I live in Cape Town and my other son lives in Johannesburg. Due to Covid we have limited resoruces to go to Durban to resolve this matter My son is alone in Durban for the Festive Season. He has no home, he has lost all his clothes property etc and SA Home Loans and the Assessor from Peter Greeff & Associate do not give a damn. We have had no confirmation from SA Home Loans regarding whether they will be paying for his accommodation which is written in the policy. The assessor advised that he cannot take responsibiilty for any lease. So its now up to my son to pay for the property etc. He is staying with friends which is also putting him at risk with Covid. Tryng to find property at this time of the year is difficult. He has no where to leave his two dogs and the SPCA have given him a warning to find a place for them as the poperty that burnt down is not safe.

Shame on you SA Home Loans and Peter Greeff & Associates for being so unhelpful.

I am sure they are going to have a better Festive Season than my family especially my son.
