Dishonesty, Incompetence and breach of POPIA

I app**** for a home loan through SA Home Loans and, having a professional background in home loans myself, I was shocked at the level of incompetence I encountered throughout the process.

I had to guide both the consultant and the credit department at every stage, and even then, critical mistakes were made. It was clear there were significant gaps in understanding and execution.

What is most alarming is the blatant breach of the POPI Act. The consultant copied a third party on emails who was not part of my application. I raised this immediately and asked for it to stop. Instead, she continued to copy the individual using BCC and even asked him not to tell me, knowing full well I had objected.

Additionally, I was advised on an available option. After I made my decision based on this advice, I was later told the option was not actually available due to system restrictions.

My experience was marred by dishonesty, poor communication, and a clear lack of integrity. Based on this, I would not recommend SA Home Loans to anyone.
