Customer service and business conduct

I am very unhappy with how SA Home Loans runs their business and treats their customers. I have an account with them and am currently in arrears. However, I managed to sell the property, and the buyer’s attorney is in the process of paying off the account. We have signed all the necessary documents.

Despite this, one of their representatives contacted me, stating that my account is in arrears and demanding immediate payment. I explained to her that I am aware of the situation and had already sent an email about it but didn’t receive any assistance. I also informed her that I had sold the property and was in the process of settling the account. I mentioned that my financial difficulties were due to losing my job.

Her response was unprofessional—she spoke with anger and threatened to send my account to the legal department if I didn’t make immediate payment. She didn’t even ask for proof that the account would be settled. It seemed like she was more interested in expressing her frustration rather than addressing the issue. When I asked what would happen with the sale if the account was sent to the legal department, I was ignored.

Now, I don’t know what to do. She doesn’t seem to care that I’m in the process of closing the account and isn’t interested in seeing any proof. All she seems to want is to escalate the account to the legal department.

I would not recommend SA Home Loans to anyone for a home loan. Stick with the big banks where your concerns will be heard and addressed appropriately.
