Complicit SA Homeloans and Santam Insurance (Claims Consultants who prolong the authorisation of work to be done)
had insured my home with SA Homeloans when the bond was taken out with them many years ago. Because of shoddy service in July last year, 2021, I requested a cancelation and I was told telephonic ally that the other company insuring must insure the property to approximately R2.1m and then only they will allow me to move my insurance.
Subsequently, Santam did the letter (by Lexson Jacob's) and I made the submission on 14 July 2021 by email. He also made that submission. SA HOME LOANS consultant indicated to me in no uncertain terms that Friday afternoon that she would contact me on Monday morning which did not happen. I then queried the matter telephonically abt the consultant not keeping to her side of business and was then told that I should give my contact details and then they (SA HOME LOANS) will get back to me. It was then I had made several attempts telephonically to address the matter of cancelation in the following months that my premiums were deducted but not stopped. In my view, they were punishing me by taking the premiums and really not interested in doing their work. I sent an email expressing my frustration but to no avail.
So Santam is the preferred insurer and as per the regulations my intention was for the cancelation of the policy with SA HOME LOANS and upon cancelation thereof I instructed further that the premiums be added to my bond payment and this cancelation was not effected by SA HOME LOANS and for 12 months they deducted premiums inspite of Santam (my new and preferred insurer) comp**** with SA HOME LOANS' requirements to cover liability for R2, 1 m and the letter sent to them last July 2021! I subsequently resubmitted the cancelation letter and then emailed the relevant documents to SA Homeloans. Ms Samukelisiwe Mthembu is the most inefficient and insensitive claim consultant that does not return calls and supposes that an organization such as SA HOME LOANS can be run telephonically and can dodge her work ethic in terms of my interaction with her.
Here's the twist in the tale : I'm now accused of dual insurance because my house was burgled on the 06 July 2022 and subsequently realised that paying to two insurers for the same 'item' was not on and that it was never my intention to double insure or act **********ly to claim at two insurers for the same incident.
What I want? SA HOME LOANS acted with negligence and in no wise addressed the issue of cancelation which issue they demanded so vociferously that I submit a letter from Santam to cover a liability in excess of R2000 000 as per SA HOME LOANS policy schedule. This is not my fault however premiums were deducted through a government stop order which upon instruction to SA HOME LOANS that monthly insurance amount should have gone to pay extra towards my bond premiums. This was explicitly stated in my email to them. Unfortunately, this was not done.
These are the options I would want to be considered in this matter in terms of a speedy resolution: 1. In view of the shoddy and inefficient service which fault lays at the juristic feet of SAHL should pay me out regarding the burglary incident losses whilst my preferred insurer Santam continue with the repairs as per policy.
My concern is that the damages need to be repaired swiftly and my humble request is that a decision should be done swiftly and efficiently. As an employed person, taking leave is a high premium for this week.
SECOND COMPLAINT ABOUT SANTAM Now Santam insurer, my preferred insurer was supposed to act on my behalf but it's noted that they had not acted on acted in my interest. Mr Sipho Sithole, claims consultant for Santam handling my claim knows fully well that he had to have a discussion with SA HOME LOANS as a power of attorney document constituted a sharing of the information between the insurers and this is purported to have happened abt 18/19 July 2022, which was not reported to me by Mr Sithole. Instead, he had not returned my calls and even claimed that there had been problems with their telephone service. My wife and I was pushed from pillar to post from one consultant to the next all stating that they will message him to call me. It was the most harrowing experience for my family and I to deal with.
Mr Sithole was well aware that the burglary had dire consequences in terms of us not having water and electricity. He continually threw the company processes and policy at me and made it known in no uncertain terms that he understood what I was going through but still ddnt resolve the basic human right issues of water and electricity provisions. It is the evening of the 20th of July 2022 and as yet the contractors are not authorized to start the work at my home. My last conversation with Mr Sithole was at 14:35, 20/07/2022 and his response was that Management had not authorized for the service providers to commence work at my premises.
It must also be noted that Mr Sithole has been complicit with SA HOME LOANS by pressurising me to submit a cancelation letter of payment to SA HOME LOANS as he had requested this on their behalf. I made it known that I will not compromise myself by sending same as I sent it in last July 2021 with particular instructions. Instead of acting on my behalf, Mr Sipho Sithole chose to ignore me by punishing my family and I through by not sending the contractors to repair my home.
Further, to the premiums paid by me and SA HOME LOANS should compensate me through the bond as per my instruction retrospectively.
My family needs your help Hello Peter.
