Appalling service after home invasion

In the early hours of the morning of the 28th December, ******* broke into my aunt and uncle's home. They had removed the back door from its hinges, destroyed the security gate and were attempting to break down the passage door when my uncle woke up. The ******s fled the scene when the police were called a few minutes later.

The following day they placed a call to SA Homeloans to report the incident and were promised that a contractor would contact them within 24 hours to secure the premises.

Despite numerous calls to SA Homeloans, 3 days later no one has been to the house and no contractor has contacted them to even set up an appointment.

My uncle has terminal cancer and has had to take it upon himself to try and secure the premises in the absence of the contractor.

Not only are they traumatised from this incident, they are living with the very real threat of these individuals returning to an unsecured house.

This is absolutely appalling service and totally unacceptable in a country where violent crime is on a steady rise.

I sincerely hope SA Homeloans can get this resolved before my family have another traumatic incident. I have advised them and others to move their home insurance to an institution who recognise the importance of home safety.

A week after the home invasion, there has still been no service delivery from SA Homeloans. Despite numerous calls and complaints to the call centre, the contractor has yet to even call to make an appointment. This is truly service delivery at its absolute worst!
