A NIGHTMARE starring SA HOMELOANS!!

As a long time client of SA Homeloans, we thought we would go through the mortgage process again with them, for the purchase of our NEW dream house. We were OUTSTANDING clients paying most of our 20 year bond within 9 years, not to mention our credit rating being EXCELLENT! In saying that it was an ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE dealing with SA Homeloans represented by a property finance consultant by the name of SHOBANA BEOSUMBAR. (Based in KZN office) Long story short, I always felt that I was a nuisance when contacting her or asking for guidance in this process. She was impatient from the get-go. Made us jump through UNNECESSARY hurdles that she thought the back office would want in granting this bond. Two weeks passed by and we still had not moved to the next phase which was approval in principle. Didn't even make it to the back office. Not to mention final bond approval which we needed for our new house. What a waste of time and energy. For 2 weeks both my wife and I had sleepless nights as it wasn't a pleasant experience dealing with Shobana and SAHL. I then inquired with BetterBond who are mortgage originators who apply to the 4 or 5 major banks. They basically get you the best possible interest rate. Jayni from Betterbond was just AMAZING!!! Within 5 hours of submitting our application we got 2 AIP's (approval in principle) from 2 of the major banks. We settled on the 1 bank and got an AMAZING interest rate. Final bond approval within 3 days. It makes me think, why in the world would ANYBODY want to go through the hassle of applying through SA Homeloans? I took the time to write this review so that nobody else has to go through the agony we endured for 2 weeks with that **** institution. Take my advice now and give SAHL a complete miss. Betterbond have really come through for us in a big way. We are now in our dream home!
