Poor sales and management service at S4 Auto Cape Town and Nissan Milnerton

<p>I recently bought a used Renault Sandero 1.4 litre car from S4 Auto in Cape Town. They are affiliated to the Nissan Milnerton branch in Cape Town.</p> <p> </p> <p>I have experienced a serious case of poor management and sales service at the S4 Auto Dealer.</p> <p> </p> <p>I have been dealing with a sales agent (who has since resigned) and his sales manager. <br /> </p> <p>I paid hard cash for the car as I had an insurance payout. I put the offer to purchase in on 17th May 2015 and I expected them to be jumping around to make things happen for me.</p> <p> </p> <p>I was told by the sales agent that the car registration papers and licence plate would take about 4 days.</p> <p> </p> <p>I was assured that after they received my offer to purchase and a my proof of payment, the papers would be sent down from Joburg (with spare keys) and that this process would take 3 to 4 days from when i took delivery of the vehicle on 21st May (the registration papers had not been sorted out by then).<br /> <br />It is now 3 and a half weeks since my offer to purchase. I have taken delivery of the vehicle but still dont have the papers or new registration plates. I contacted the sales agent about it several times, with my last contact from him on 30 May. I had contacted him also because I mentioned to him that the car brakes were squeaking and wanted to follow up on my papers.<br /> <br />The main bottleneck it seems is that the sales agent didnt get me to sign the invoice paper that was needed to get the registration papers sent (I signed all the other finance papers they required). No one from S4 Auto phoned me to follow up on that or anything at all. In fact, I had to phone them, to chase them up. Only then did they tell me that the sales agent was no longer there. And also only after my mentioning to them that I wanted an invoice did they realise that it wasn't done. <br /> <br />If the police stop me on the roads asking for registration and my licence, I will have to refer them to S4 and Nissan Milnerton - because all I have to show them is my offer to purchase and invoice!</p> <p><br />I was told by the S4 Sales manager that the papers were coming down on Monday 6th June and then had to call him to follow up on Thur 9th June. He said his registration people were contacting him at 3pm that day. I have not heard from him since. I also contacted the sales managers at Nissan Milnerton who said they would look into the matter and follow up, but I also havent heard from them and i still dont have the registration papers - and it's 10th June.</p> <p> </p>
