Aircon installation disaster

<p>S P Watkins Aircon installations that work in Pretoria were recommended by Builders Warehouse to do installation work for me. He had to move an existing air-conditioner that he installed, a short distance away in my living room. The job took him 4 hours as he had to constantly go and fetch this and that spare part. He was not finished when he left my property as the conduit piping for covering the piping and electrical cables was not installed. He brought the incorrect size!!!</p> <p>In my stupidity I paid him R3500 and he promised to come and conclude the job the next day. He wanted the full payment of R4100 but I refused. It has now been 17 days and he has made 2 weeks' worth of excuses, i.e. car broke down, no conduit available, etc, etc. Please note that there is a supplier of the conduit a few blocks away from my home that have stock. Typical excuses of an ************ contractor that we have heard all before. </p> <p>On closer inspection I noticed exposed an air conditioner pipe, two hold down bolts and their suspension rubbers that are not in place, polyfilla smeared on walls and not cleaned up and so we go on. untidy cable jointing and so on.</p> <p>Obviously he is not taking anymore of my calls. I have since got an electrician to complete, the work properly. </p> <p> </p> <p>S P Watkins gets work via Builders Warehouse as well as on the premise that he is installing airconditioners at churches!!! How disgraceful.</p> <p>People in the north of Pretoria need to know that this guy is totally unreliable and should not be used. He is dishonest and can't be re**** upon. He constantly requests that work gets paid up in front and during the four hours of work he did, he asked me 3 times if I had done the EFT payment. I did the EFT only when the machine was running and all he had to do, to complete the work, was install the conduiting.</p> <p>In the last call to him, he asked that I pay the remaining amount in and an additional R100 for transport. I said no as the transport was for when he should of completed the work, the first time. I cant get gold of him now and have not heard from him since.</p> <p> </p> <p>S P Watkins does not return to complete work and he does not provide invoices. His workmanship is terrible and his workers dont even have the ability to drill holes in walls. I had to constantly supply him with my personal tools so he can continue working. He battled for 2 hours to get through 6mm reinforcing bar!</p> <p> </p> <p>I want any potential future customers to know of these issues that I have had with this business and that they must understand that they are exposing themselves to, if they use him. I would they recommend they get a professional and qualified person to do the work.</p>
