Whirlpool and its lies.
I have recently encountered dreadful service experience both with Whirlpool customer service, South Africa and their appointed service agent. In April 2018 engaged through whirlpool customer service the local agent to service Whirlpool ACE 102 IX build in coffee machine (now costs Rands 26,000) which was making an unacceptable noise when going through the stages of producing a cup of coffee. We paid the service fee. eventually the service agent came and inspected the machine at our home and requested the machine was delivered to their workshop. The Wednesday following Easter the machine we delivered the machine and recollected 24 hours later being advised the centre shaft need replacement, but the machine could be used until the part arrived. On 24th May contact the agent, advised that no part had been ordered and a proforma invoice would be sent the following day. I advised I was totally unhappy with the way the service had been handled and would report this to customer service. Their response was go ahead. I spend many hours on the phone with Whirlpool customer service having sent a letter of complaint, I received lip service and no support to fix the machine. It would appear they closed ranks and do not intend to solve my issues. In light of this I engaged a local technician who services many of our other electrical units and was advised the following. 1 The coffee machine had not been opened and inspected by whirlpool as stated 2 The centre shaft was in perfect order and the noise was the result of lack of oil. 3 The machine has been cleaned, reassembled and is in perfect working order
I therefore strongly suggest that the service structure offered by whirlpool in South Africa is not professional and certainly does not operate in the interest of the customer.
