2 year warranty - but repairs on engine not covered!!!

We bought a generator on 27/02/2021 from Builders Warehouse in Polokwane.

Since we started using the generator it has been using oil like crazy, but since stage 6 load shedding has started, we are using it a lot more often so now the oil light keeps flickering when in use.

Went back to Builders today, so they told us the generator has a 2 year warranty and we should contact the RYOBI agent in Polokwane, which we did and he sent us a quotation for the repair and stated it will not be claimed under warranty.

How is this possible? The 2 years are not over yet, and it is not our fault that the engine is faulty.
