Inflated bills!

<div>Their procedures cost more than the agreed price. I was told twice telephonically by a Dr Coleman that an operation my dog needed would not cost more that R2800. I budgeted for this op. I put it off for a month and bit to have the funds available. Once the op was performed I arrived to collect my dog, the bill was R5079,79. Dr Coleman ensured that the op would not be more than R2800, I took his word for it. I was so shocked with the bill that I burst into tears.When I queried the bill, he didn't flinch and said the receptionist would help me. The receptionist told me I should have received a written quote from him beforehand which is ridiculous! Prior to this op, I'd already spent over R5000 in bills with this vet including a locum vet while Coleman was away. My poor dog was ill and suffering from multiple fits and I couldn't get a straight answer on what was wrong. First, she was treated for hook-worm , then it was inflamed kidneys (locum's diagnosis) then it was an operation to remove bladder stones. I was told the bladder stones were most probably the reason behind my dog's fits due to the toxins. Suffice to say, she got worse after the op having 4-5 fits a day and I had to put her down 4 weeks later (at another vet who told me immediately that it was most likely a brain tumour). I'm still heartbroken over my little dog. I think it's ********* to make money off desperate people trying to save their pets. I know of another person (a dog trainer in Rynfield) who was also told a price over the phone by Dr Coleman and then charged more afterwards. That was just for blood tests! This establishment doesn't deserve a star, their practice is ********* and unfair.</div>
