Hotel Staff Incompetence

Good evening

On Thursday afternoon, I phoned Rustique Hotel to reserve a room for myself for a friend's birthday party. The receptionist booked it for Friday, as per my request. She gave me the amount of R900 which I had to pay upon arrival on Friday evening. Friday night, I arrived at the hotel around 7pm, went to reception to pay and the receptionist said it's R1 700. EXCUSE ME!!! I asked her how because I confirmed R900 on Thursday with that receptionist. She said they have a weekend rate of R1700, a rate that was not communicated to me at all. Mind you, I'm a woman, driving alone at night, and I did not have an extra R800 to pay. I asked for the manager, whose incompetence is appalling. His excuse was that the receptionist who gave me the price is in training. If she's in training then she shouldn't be assisting customers with bookings. He then said there's nothing he can do for me. EXCUSE ME!!!! The hotel is outside town, it's late and this is the service I'm getting?!!! I'm disappointed at the level of their manager's problem solving skills,like, what did he say at the interview??!!!

My friends and I will never consider it again. Thanx!!!
