Unnecessary Delay in Approval of an Estate Late Account

Good Day,

My late mother passed on in November 2021 and her Estate is being handled by Van Velden & Duffey Attorneys. There seems to be a delay in the release of the funds but poor communication in letting in updating us.

We opened the file in January 2022, we are yet to receive the proceeds of the Estate because the lawyers keep telling us that the Master has not approved the Estate. It is over a year now waiting for the funds. Though, the liquidation process and the allocation has been sent to us on August 2022. The Master has been sitting with the file for over a year now and the beneficiaries are struggling and in financial difficulties. The feedback we are getting from the Lawyers is that the file is sitting with the Master and that there is nothing that they can do.
