MASSIVELY OVERCHARGED FROM EQUIPMENT

<p>My mother was admitted to the Arwyp Hospital for a hip replacement. Whilst she was in hospital the physiothe****** at the hospital suggested that she have a walker and a back brace, which was supp**** by Ruan Louw Orthopaedic services in Kempton Park. Her medical aid declined payment of these devices and she must now settle the account herself. She is a retired pensioner with very limited income and we contacted Ruan Louw to negotiate a cash settlement of the account. They have refused to offer any settlement on the account - still charging us the exact same amount that they were charging the medical aid. I contacted other suppliers and discovered that I could source the exact same equipment for 25% less than what they are charging but yet they are still refusing to offer any sort of discount whatsoever.</p> <p> </p> <p>This is a warning for anyone being admitted to hospital and in need of the****utic equipment - do your homework and source the equipment yourself. Companies like Ruan Louw are relying on the fact that you or your loved ones are not in a position to obtain the equipment yourself and massively overcharging for equipment that can be sourced elsewhere for far less</p>
