It is said to be a Healing lodge, which is just a nice way of saying it is a rehabilitation center. I was forced against my free will or without a court order to spend 6 months in the place. The day the people from the healing lodge or known as the "catch team" came to Rustenburg to handcuff me and force me into their vehicle, I was also pepper sprayed by three of the guys just for talking a bit much about how unhappy I was with what they were doing. However it fiercely denied that they pepper spray anyone but they are in fact trigger happy with the pepper spray. This rehabilitation center does not follow any program like Celebrate Recovery or the 12 Step program. The patients are assigned each to work on different things on the plot. The food that is served to the patients is not up to standard because all of that is also donated to the Rehabilitation center, thus leaving the question why does a patients family pay for them to be there. Then my problem I have with the place is the fact that they borrowed R1700 from me to buy bread and other items for the dinner on the days with the promise to pay me back the money, then the ceo of the Rehabilitation center's daughter and her husband took my bank card and withdrew R710 from my account without my permission. That I only became aware of 2 months after this was done. That making the amount owed to me R2410. How is it possible that the place receives between R2000 and R4500 per patient but cannot give the patients decent food or that they need to borrow money from a patient to buy food items for the day and then not paying them back. February I asked the lady working in the kitchen to buy a few items in town for me which I gave her my bank card and pin to pay for the items she bought for me. The day after she bought me the things, everything I bought was taken by the ceo/pastor without my permission and then handed out to other patients. That bringing the total owed to me to R3910. A month has passed since I got out of there and still I haven't received any of my money. Every inquiry I make, the answer is he will see and then pay me back the money but I don't receive anything. I would definitely not recommend anyone sending a loved one to this place. It is the worst 6 months of my life thus far. The people in charge is ********* because the items taken from me without my permission and the withdrawal of money from my account without my permission or knowledge is nothing else than theft. Then borrowing money from a patient who receives only R2400 per month in Sassa disability grant and not paying them back is wrong and *********. I just want my R3910 to be paid back because I am now struggling because of them not paying my money back.
