Furniture Removal Gone Wrong

On the 21st of May 2021, I contacted RoyalShift Logistics for a quote to transport furniture from Centurion to Durban the following week. I was relocating my employee with his wife and newborn.

I spoke to a gentleman by the name of Prosper, he gave me quote considerably less than the others I received, I double checked and triple checked that the furniture would definitely be here on the 28th of May, as my employee and his family would be arriving that morning and they would need their belongings especially their bed. He confirmed on numerous occasions that it would be delivered on Friday the 28th. On Friday, my employee and his family arrived in the morning and went to their empty new home. I called Prosper for an update and he advised that the delivery would be made that afternoon. With every call I made the delivery time was pushed further and further. At 9pm I received a panicked call from my employee because he had nowhere for his baby to sleep. At that hour I had to arrange for them to get picked up and taken to a hotel. When I contacted Prosper he was very arrogant, eventually he put his phone off. I managed to get the drivers number at 10pm and the driver confirmed that the delivery was planned to arrive in Durban on Saturday. The driver was very apologetic but he explained that he had no idea that we needed the goods so urgently as that was not communicated with him. At that time he was at his rest stop, ready to go to sleep. I couldn’t blame him as he was courteous and he told me that he will wake up extra early to make sure the furniture was delivered before 10am. (He stuck to his word and kept me updated the whole time!)

Prosper is the owner of this pathetic establishment. He hasn’t taken my calls. When I questioned him on Saturday morning via WhatsApp he ignored my messages. He is a *****. Please beware. I learnt my lesson now about looking for the cheapest price, because clearly you encounter utter disgraces such as this. This entire experience with the cost of the hotel was double the cost of the other reputable removal companies. If you want to remove your furniture please look elsewhere!
