R4400 for a minor service on a Polo Vivo

I was charged R4400 for a minor service on a Polo Vivo - a very basic vehicle to work on.

When I disputed the labour hours charged, I was told that 2.5 hours is standard for all their services, and they added an extra half hour to "check the computer" and "reset the service interval". Even a junior mechanic can do an oil change and plug in an OBD reader in under 30 minutes...

They did the work without giving me an estimate beforehand or any updates in the day. I am at fault as I should have enquired, but I assumed, given the good reviews, it would be the going rate for this vehicle of R1~2k as at official service centers.

I have no doubt that they are capable mechanics, however this was clearly a *******. I can't recommend them anymore.
