No cash payment of my R3200 winnings from the carnival

I won R3,200 from Roots Carnival (Roots Butchery) on 25 July at vereeniging store or vtown as they call it. I submitted all the required documents as requested. Since then, I have not been paid.

When I raised my concern on their Facebook page, my post was deleted and I was later blocked from their page, which shows they are silencing customers instead of resolving issues.

I also lodged a complaint on their website and followed up via WhatsApp, but all I get is “we are busy with it” — with no clear update, no timeline, and still no money.

This feels highly unfair and misleading. I am now escalating this matter to the National Consumer Commission (NCC) and Gauteng Consumer Affairs for investigation.

All I want is for Roots Butchery/Roots Carnival to honor their commitment and pay me my winnings.
