Deposit Theft

<p>In January 2017 we paid a deposit of R8550 for holiday accommodation for December 2017 at Coral Island in Cape Town.</p> <p> </p> <p>We subsequently found out that we will be having our second child in December and had to cancel our holiday arrangements and gave Rooms For Africa 7 months to find tenants to replace us.</p> <p> </p> <p>In July we received our refund only to find out that Rooms For Africa paid R5472 into our account - taking R3000 for themselves.</p> <p> </p> <p>Upon querying why they have taken 36% of the amount, Rooms for Africa tried to blame Coral Island’s cancelation policy.</p> <p> </p> <p>I contacted Coral Island and asked them why their cancelation fees were so high only to be told that they refunded the full amount back to Rooms For Africa. </p> <p> </p> <p>Rooms for Africa declined to pay the R3000 back to us.</p>
