I would strongly caution anyone considering RoomRac****. We were pressured into signing a contract under the premise of a “limited-time” offer that was supposedly expiring within 48 hours. This created unnecessary urgency and didn’t allow for proper due diligence. To access the promised discount, we were required to pay the full annual fee upfront — something that, in hindsight, carried significant risk. The sales pitch was extremely enthusiastic and painted a picture of a system that would dramatically improve performance and revenue. Unfortunately, the reality did not match those promises. A major red flag: we were not offered any trial period. For a system of this complexity, that is unacceptable. Once implemented, we experienced multiple technical issues, including double bookings and system errors that led to overbookings — a serious operational problem for any hospitality business. What is particularly concerning is the lack of transparency around their financial policies. It is not clearly communicated that annual fees are non-refundable. When we raised concerns and requested a cancellation and partial refund, the response was dismissive and, frankly, arrogant. In our experience, their handling of the situation does not align with the principles of the South African Consumer Protection Act. To make matters worse, despite already retaining the full unused annual fee, they proceeded to issue an additional invoice for Google Ads — without any consideration of the situation. Overall, this has been a very disappointing and costly experience. I would recommend sticking with a provider you trust and that offers transparency and flexibility. Don’t be swayed by high-pressure sales tactics or promises that sound too good to be true.
