Room with a View is run by Tsotsis. AVOID!!!

Room With a View was the most shocking experience. Their adverti*****t in Homemakers magazine has been running for many, many years. They advertise a loft conversion completed within 10 days and that they are NHBRC registered. The guy who came to meet with us was so professional, punctual and well spoken initially, we couldn't believe our luck. Plans were approved and materials delivered the following week and work began and went well for 2 weeks. The builder walked off the job saying he had not been paid. Then carpenters arrived who had no tools, no scaffolding and were instructed to build roof trusses from scratch, they also walked off the job saying they were not paid. We were told that the job would take roughly 2 months including brick work. A year later the job showed no signs of being completed, the builder kept demanding more money, ***** contract had a payment plan saying you were to pay when plastering was started... When painting was started which seemed reasonable except they plastered before the plumbing and electrics were in. This guy 'Stephen' became extremely aggressive and insulting when I queried anything, windows were installed *****ed, ceilings are *****ed, plaster just falls off when you tap it, materials are of such poor quality, you cannot do anything on the roof because anywhere you put your foot a hole appears. The man threatened us at which point the cops were called. The man argued we had not paid him, we produced proof of payment and he drove off, never to be seen again. We have since had several petty theft incidents by someone who knows the inside of the property. His driver was so high that he couldn't stand most of the time. Stephen also didn't seem to have any actual builders working for him, just random guys off the street who were occasionally supervised by an actual builder, say once every tw weeks, after I complained... A lot! Two years later we are still trying to fix all the stuff ups on our building. Too many things to mention. Such a totally horrific experience, stay away.
