Jeanine De Meyer, Storm De Meyer and Michael De Meyer occupied our property as tenants from 01 February 2026 until 31 May 2026. During the tenancy there were repeated breaches of the lease agreement, ongoing disputes involving other tenants on the property, and continual issues relating to unpaid rental obligations, unauthorized occupants, unauthorized animals and disturbances affecting the peaceful environment of the residence. During the tenancy, Storm De Meyer became involved in multiple financial disputes with other tenants residing on the property. One tenant alleged that Storm borrowed money from her and later provided an ATM withdrawal slip that had already been used as proof of repayment. In a separate matter, another tenant alleged that Storm purchased an item from him valued at R1250 and subsequently provided proof of payment that could not be verified, while repeatedly advising that payment would still be made at a later stage. The amount allegedly remained unpaid. There was also a dispute involving one of my children’s PS5 controllers which had been handed to Storm De Meyer for repair purposes. Following requests for its return, the controller was not returned, but found in separate pieces scattered across the common areas of the property. In breach of the lease agreement, additional animals were brought onto the property, including two dogs and an intact male cat, exceeding what had been authorized under the lease (2 max). Concerns were repeatedly raised regarding the condition, control and care of the animals, including flea infestations and animals roaming outside of the designated private yard unsupervised. On one occasion, one of the dogs was recovered from a busy street outside of the property after requests to properly secure the animals had allegedly not been comp**** with. The lease agreement further required that all animals residing on the property remain up to date with vaccinations, deworming and flea/tick treatment. Concerns were raised during the tenancy regarding compliance with these requirements. An additional occupant, Nicole Scott, also took up residence at the property without authorization and without being listed on the lease agreement. Following her occupation of the premises, multiple loud domestic disputes between her and Storm De Meyer allegedly disturbed other tenants residing on the property. Complaints were received from multiple occupants regarding the disruption to the peaceful enjoyment of the property. Additional allegations were also brought to our attention by tenants relating to inappropriate conduct and suspected ******* substance-related activity occurring during the tenancy. These concerns contributed significantly to the deterioration of trust between the tenants and management of the property. At the end of April 2026, Jeanine De Meyer advised that the May 2026 rental payment would be late. Multiple extensions and opportunities to settle the outstanding rental amounts were provided out of consideration for personal circumstances communicated to us during the tenancy. Despite these extensions, as at 29 May 2026, outstanding arrears in the amount of R11 550,98 remain unpaid. During the tenancy, the premises also appeared to be used for work-related meetings and business-related purposes despite the property being leased primarily for residential occupation. Throughout the tenancy, numerous attempts were made to address concerns amicably and resolve issues directly with the tenants. However, the recurring breaches, ongoing disputes involving other tenants, disturbances on the property and unresolved arrears ultimately resulted in the termination of the tenancy and notice requiring the occupants to vacate the property by 31 May 2026. This statement reflects our direct experience as landlords and is based on documentation, written communication records, witness accounts and other supporting evidence retained on file. It is shared as a factual account of our experience for reference purposes only.
