Roodt vleis

I have a dish I make which requires a specific cut of lamb. I have been to many butchers in the past, where I asked for what I need and never have encountered a problem with the correct cut. Today I went past Roodt vleis, because they were on my route. A very kind lady behind the counter tried to assist me within her ability, but she eventually said she will ask a butcher to cut my request for me. The general impression from the mostly white butchers there were oafish and rude. The butcher that eventually helped me, after she was rebuked by a few others on the floor did not greet me or even had any clue of the cut that I requested. I needed 2 one inch cuts of best end lamb. I was walked by this "butcher " to the pre packed cut fridge. I did not see any of the pre cut, pre packed lamb that looks like the cut I required. I am not a butcher and I do know the cut I required was much thicker than what I can buy off the pre cut selection. His demeanor was bothered and off towards me. I eventually left the butcher's, after paying for 2 cuts if lamb that was not cut an even 1 inches and it definitely did not look like the normal "best end" lamb cut I have received from any other butcher before. I dont think it even was a "chop" cut at all. The man was so oafish and so rude. I could not find the courage to actually tell him that my lamb cuts does not look right. Meat is very expensive. I do believe a butcher should know what a "best end chop" of lamb is. But what really matters is how his rude and threatening demeanor does not just relay to the staff, but to customers as well. I got home and googled the cut that I requested. What was cut for me and sold as what I asked for was not at all the same cut. I am not a butcher. But the person that cut my meat for me was also not. I am appalled at how I was treated as a customer and from what I saw the treatment of the lady that really wanted to help me, as a shop assistant. I am disgusted. I will never buy anything from Roodt vleis again. I am a firm supporter of small business, but what I witnessed today was beyond disgusting and disturbing.
